Responding to Alerts
The task of responding to alerts will occupy a significant portion of the administrator's time. This task may be shared among all the support staff or it may be dedicated to a single person or group. The Config, Preferences menu option allows the receipt of alerts to be enabled or disabled on a per user basis. When an alert is received by SCO Doctor it is routed to the first available administrator.
After analyzing the alert notice, the administrator can utilize the Connect facility to connect back to the relevant system for a session of live monitoring. This option allows the operator to study the system more closely or to correct the fault at the remote site. A remote login can also be created on the remote system for manual correction of problems.
